Why are you an instructor/what inspired you to work in the fitness industry?
I started practicing yoga around 2005, ebbing and flowing on my mat as a way to find more movement and focus into my life. Once I became a mother in 2011, my practice deepened in strength and consistency, and I found more inspiration, self awareness and growth. I decided to take my yoga teacher training so I could learn more about the full practice of yoga both on and off the mat, and share the benefits and healing potential with others.
Who is your greatest influence and why?
My greatest influence is my two children. It sounds terribly cliche, but they truly inspire me to be the best version of myself. I have learned how the cycle of compassion begins with nurturing and healing myself, so I can ripple that energy and love outwards. They remind me that life is ever changing, imperfect and full of “seasons”; that there is beauty in the mundane, and power in the present.
